Mid-Century Modern Warmth

Mid-Century Modern Warmth

In this light-filled Middle Island kitchen, Bakes & Kropp takes a mid-century modern approach to coastal warmth. Cabinetry from our Madison Collection, finished in True Oak and a custom white hue hand painted on site, is layered with textural tile and a metal-framed glass hutch that adds architectural interest.

Clean lines + natural elements create coastal warmth without losing a tailored mid-century silhouette.

A generous island with a dark stone top anchors the room and invites casual seating, while the professional cooking zone is defined by a handsome range hood and warm-toned backsplash. To the right, a bold blue prep/bar area—with glossy tile and reeded glass above—adds a sophisticated pop of color and delineates a secondary work zone.

Integrated storage, a discreet pantry wall, and thoughtful drawer organization keep surfaces clear and workflow intuitive. Throughout, brass accents in the sculptural lighting and hardware pull the palette together, balancing painted cabinetry, natural wood, and neutral stone. The result feels timeless yet current—perfect for the way we live today.
